Patches of Hope

A woman creates an intricate quilt in the Mariknoll-CRS Patches of Hope quilt project for HIV positive people in Phnom Penh. Participants earn cash to pay for anti-retroviral treatments as well basic needs and school fees for their children. The work allows participants to earn at least as much as inone of the local factories as well as allow flexible hours to care for their children and visit their doctors. It is not unusual other employers to fire employees out of fear of their HIV-positive status.
